Vacation Days
Legal right to paid days off
Vacation days are paid days off to which the employee is legally entitled. The legal minimum is four times the number of working days per week, amounting to 20 days for full-time employment. Many collective agreements offer additional vacation days above the legal minimum. Statutory vacation days expire six months after the year they were accrued, while extra days expire after five years.
