Supplementary Benefits Act
Supplement to benefit up to minimum wage
The Supplementary Benefits Act (TW) provides a supplement to social insurance benefits when the total income of the benefit recipient falls below the social minimum. The supplement tops up income to the minimum wage level. This law is especially relevant for employees with a low unemployment or WIA benefit and for labour migrants with a partial benefit.
“Through the Supplementary Benefits Act, a benefit can be topped up to the social minimum level.”
