Right of employees to go on strike

The right to strike is the right of employees to collectively stop work as a means of pressure in labour disputes or collective agreement negotiations. This right is enshrined in the European Social Charter. A strike must be used as a last resort and must be proportional. Employees may not be dismissed for participating in a lawful strike.

The right to strike is a fundamental right allowing employees to collectively stop work.
