Travel Allowance

Compensation for commuting expenses

The travel allowance is compensation paid by the employer for the employee's commuting costs. The employer may reimburse a maximum tax-free amount per kilometer, set by the Tax Authority. A travel allowance is not legally required unless agreed in the collective agreement or employment contract.

The employer pays a travel allowance of 23 cents per kilometer for commuting.
