Overwerkvergoeding

Overtime compensation

Extra payment for hours exceeding the regular working time.

Overtime compensation is the extra payment or compensation in free time for hours worked beyond the regular working hours. There is no statutory obligation to provide overtime compensation; this is regulated in the collective labour agreement (CAO) or individual employment contract. Many collective labour agreements (CAO) provide for an overtime percentage of 125% to 200% of the regular hourly wage, depending on the time (evening, night, weekend).

Whether you are entitled to overtime compensation depends on your collective labour agreement (CAO).
