Dismissal permit (ontslagvergunning)

A UWV permit that an employer requires to dismiss an employee.

A dismissal permit (ontslagvergunning) is an authorisation from the UWV WERKbedrijf that an employer requires to dismiss an employee on business economic grounds or due to long-term incapacity for work (longer than 2 years). The employer must submit an application to the UWV with substantiation of the reason for dismissal. The UWV assesses whether the dismissal is justified and whether redeployment is not possible.

Without a dismissal permit from the UWV, the dismissal is null and void.
