Immediate termination of the employment contract without notice period due to an urgent reason.
Summary dismissal (ontslag op staande voet) is the most far-reaching form of dismissal. The employer terminates the employment contract with immediate effect, without notice period. This is only permitted in the event of an urgent reason, such as theft, fraud, violence, or refusal to work. The reason must be communicated without delay. In the event of summary dismissal (ontslag op staande voet), the employee loses the right to a transition payment (transitievergoeding) and WW benefit.
