A representative body of employees with advisory right (adviesrecht) and right of consent (instemmingsrecht).

The works council (OR) (ondernemingsraad) is a representative body of employees within a company. In companies with 50 or more employees, a works council is mandatory. The works council has a right of consultation (adviesrecht) regarding important financial and organisational decisions and a right of consent (instemmingsrecht) regarding regulations on working conditions, working hours, holidays, and remuneration systems. The works council is elected by the employees of the company.

In companies with more than 50 employees, a works council (OR) is mandatory.
