Zero-hours Contract
Contract without guaranteed hours
A zero-hours contract is an employment agreement where no fixed working hours are agreed upon. The employee is called in when the employer has work available. Since 2020, after 12 months the employee is entitled to an offer for a fixed number of hours based on the average of the previous period.
“With a zero-hours contract, the employee is only called in when work is available.”
