Expert Opinion of the UWV
An expert opinion is independent advice from the UWV in a dispute between employer and employee regarding illness, reintegration, or suitable work.
An expert opinion (also called a "second opinion" from the UWV) is independent advice in a dispute between employer and employee regarding sick leave and reintegration.
The UWV can, among other things, rule on whether:
The opinion is not binding but carries significant weight in any subsequent legal proceedings. In a wage claim or request for contract termination due to insufficient reintegration, an expert opinion is often even mandatory to make the case admissible. Both employee and employer can request the opinion; there are costs involved.
