Burnout
Long-term stress-related complaints from work
Burnout is a condition of severe mental and physical exhaustion resulting from prolonged work stress. The employer has a duty of care to prevent burnout by ensuring a healthy workload and good working conditions. In case of burnout, the employee is entitled to continued salary payment for up to two years of illness and guidance by the occupational physician.
“A burnout can lead to long-term sick leave and falls under the employer's responsibility.”
