Cooling-off Period

14-day reflection period after signing settlement agreement

The cooling-off period is the statutory 14-day period during which an employee can revoke a signed settlement agreement or consent to dismissal. The employer is obliged to inform the employee in writing of this right. If the employer fails to do so, the period is extended to three weeks.

After signing the settlement agreement, the employee has a 14-day cooling-off period to revoke it.
