Reflection Principle
Selection method for economic dismissals
The reflection principle is the mandatory selection method for economic dismissals. Employees are divided into age groups and within each group it is determined who was hired last. Based on the 'last in, first out' principle per age group, it is determined who qualifies for dismissal, so that the age composition within the company remains as balanced as possible.
“During reorganization, the employer must apply the reflection principle to determine who will be dismissed.”
